More Than a Panel

Women in Leadership is not your typical panel. CUSD students take the stage, research the leaders, write their own questions, and lead the entire conversation.

This unique event is designed to give students, especially those who have not yet had leadership opportunities, the chance to build confidence, strengthen their voices, and learn directly from extraordinary women at the top of their fields.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Donya Ball

Retired Superintendent | Author | Executive Coach | International Speaker

Dr. Donya Ball is known for helping leaders navigate complex challenges with confidence, clarity, and purpose. Her practical approach to leadership focuses on resilience, emotional intelligence, accountability, and creating strong organizational cultures. She is the author of two number-one release books, Adjusting the Sails and Against the Wind, and has been featured in USA Today, MSN, and the Associated Press. In 2024, she also delivered a TEDx Talk examining the leadership challenges facing organizations today and the strategies leaders can use to create meaningful, lasting change.

Women in Leadership, Student Ambassadors (2025)

CUSD Students Take the Lead

Student-led from start to finish.

CUSD student ambassadors are at the heart of Women in Leadership. Each student researches the featured leaders, develops her own questions in advance, and takes the stage to lead the conversation. Ambassadors are intentionally selected to give students who may not yet have had leadership opportunities the chance to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, strengthen their voices, and experience what it feels like to lead.

They Research

Students learn about each featured leader's career, experience, and accomplishments.

They Write

Each ambassador develops thoughtful questions in advance based on her own interests and what she hopes to learn.

They Lead

Students take the stage and guide the conversation, creating an authentic exchange between students and women leaders.
