The mission of the Elementary Instrumental Music Program is to develop fundamental skills and interest in music, enhance group learning, and develop relationships in the music community.

2021-2022 Elementary Instrumental Music Program
Claremont Unified School District is pleased to be able to offer the Elementary Instrumental Music Program to all CUSD elementary 4-6 Grade students and students enrolled in CALM.
We are very excited to complete the transition back to in-person classes for both Band and Strings after Spring Break. Advanced and Intermediate Bands and Orchestras, and Saxophone and Cello classes have already moved to in-person classes and those schedules will remain as is. After Spring Break, our Beginning Band and Strings classes will also move to in-person instruction. This will help prepare for our concerts in May.
Starting the Week of April 11, please note the schedule below for all beginning classes. Days of the week have changed for a small number of classes. Note the location and class times.
Strings:
Cello: Wednesday 4:00-4:50 at Mountain View
Viola Wednesday 4:00-4:50 at Mountain View
Viola Tuesday 2:50-3:40 at Sycamore
Beginning Violin:
Vista grades 4 and 6: Thursday 2:45-3:35 at Vista
Vista grade 5: Thursday 4:15-5:05 at Vista
Sycamore: Tuesday 3:45-4:35 at Sycamore
Mountain View and Chaparral: Tuesday 3:30-4:20 at Chaparral
Oakmont, Sumner, and Condit: Friday 4:00-4:50 at Condit
Intermediate Orchestra: Wednesday 2:00-2:50 at Mountain View
Advanced Orchestra: Wednesday 3:00-3:50 at Mountain View
Band:
Saxophone: Wednesday 3:45-4:30 at El Roble
Percussion Class: Wednesday 3:45-4:30 at El Roble Optional
Percussion remaining online Tuesday
Flute: Tuesday 3:30-4:00 at El Roble
Clarinet: Tuesday 4:00-4:30 at El Roble
Trumpet: Tuesday 4:30-5:00 at El Roble
Trombone/Baritone: Tuesday 5:00-5:30 at El Roble
Intermediate Band: Wednesday 2:45-3:35 at El Roble
Advanced Band: Wednesday 1:45-2:35 at El Roble
El Roble classes will take place in the Band Room. In-person classes will follow the COVID precautions in place at sites at the time of class. Please continue to monitor elementary expectations for masking and physical distancing. Elementary Instrumental Music Teachers will not be able to accommodate in-person and online teaching simultaneously.
