Vista del Valle hosts a wide range of special events each year. These include:

  • The Duane Jackman Track Meet, a district-wide track meet held each spring at Vista del Valle where students representing each of Claremont's elementary schools compete in track and field events.
  • The Invention Convention, held every other year, showcases working models of inventions proposed by Vista del Valle students.
  • Multicultural Day is an opportunity to visit another culture as each classroom presents a view of a different country. The parents of Vista del Valle students claim over 34 different countries of origin!
  • Outdoor Science Camp. Each year the sixth grade students spend an entire week at the Los Angeles County Outdoor Science Camp. Students take starlight hikes and learn more about the natural environment of Southern California.
  • Science Fair, held every other year, showcases science experiments conceived and executed by Vista del Valle students.
  • Visits to Chapman Ranch, a private educational facility located just above the village of Mt. Baldy, allow our students to learn about geology, biology, ecology, and conservation.
  • Writer's Workshop, when a nationally-recognized children's author visits campus, provides Vista del Valle students with feedback and encouragement on their writing.
