Language Toolkit Writer and Reader.

L anguage Toolkit Writer and Reader are a pair of programs for preparation and reading of the foreign language interactive multimedia lessons. This is the second part in my series of programs for the foreign language teaching and learning. With the Language Writer you can prepare the interactive lessons in minutes. To set up a lesson you just use a set of predefined multimedia items specially designed for the foreign language study. You can just drag and drop these items into the convenient locations in the lesson's window, paste pictures, movies, record sound, and enter sentences, translation, grammar notes or vocabulary into the proper boxes. These lessons can be viewed with the Reader program by the final user then. There are also 4 predefined exercises' layouts for designing the foreign language exercises easily.

Verbs and Nouns.

T he program lets you create a database of verbs or nouns in a foreign language. You can easily construct the inflection patterns (rules) for words that are regular. You can include other information about each word, such as a translation, grammar characteristics, comments, etc. in a convenient form. Comments are useful for storing examples of the use of the word, or for recording other information. The facility for merging databases makes it easy to share comments with other users. The program has an exercise window. It automatically generates exercises to allow you to practise inflection or translation. You can collect the words that you have already learned and let the program generate exercises just for this group of words. You can also identify many other groups of words (and collect them in classes) to use them in exercises or for browsing. The program supports sound to associate sound samples with words.

T here are some inflection dictionaries written with my programs already. There are: Italian Verbs inflection dictionary, Polish Verbs and Nouns inflection dictionaries, and soon to be released: Russian Verbs and Nouns, Swiss-German Verbs and Nouns, Italian Nouns, Greek Verbs. I've also adopted a huge public domain English to English dictionary to use with my programs.

Polish for Everyone 1.3 - Macintosh Program

"Polish for Everyone 1.3" is the very basic, interactive course of Polish language. The program is designed for beginners. Here are the main features of this application:

Polish for All - Multimedia Lessons Written with the Toolkit Programs

"Polish for All" is a set of multimedia lessons for beginners. I submit new lessons each month. Please contact me if you are interested in subscription. This is a continuation of the "Polish for Everyone 1.3" program. The lessons run on a Macintosh only.

Polish Nouns - Declension of Nouns - Written with the Verbs and Nouns Program

The declension of nouns is one of the difficult parts of the Polish language grammar since there are many inflection patterns. "Polish Nouns - Part 1" is a database for the "Verbs&Nouns" application. It helps you to learn and refresh your knowledge about the declension rules and usage of Polish nouns. It can be used as an on-line dictionary as well.

The predefined database contains almost 8000 Polish nouns (from letter "a" to "p"). You can freely add new nouns and modify existing ones. You can easily add comments to every noun. The declension rules are presented for all 8000 nouns. The translation is available for the first 1000 nouns (it will be updated soon). There is a pattern editor, so you can just assign a predefined pattern to your newly introduced noun. You can associate sound with each noun. The program generates exercises. You can practice declension or translation during the exercises. There is a possibility to define many custom groups of nouns that meet certain criteria. There are more than 300 predefined groups of nouns in the database already. These cover almost all declension sub-patterns (they are split into three classes: masculine, feminine and neuter). There are also 20 thematic groups of nouns like: Business Related, On the Road, In the Town, Clothes, Food an Drink, Human Body, Medicine and Health, and more...

Polish Verbs - Conjugation of Polish Verbs

The program helps you to learn and refresh your knowledge about conjugation rules of Polish verbs.

The program comes with a predefined database of 2700 Polish verbs. You can freely add new verbs and modify existing ones. You can easily add comments to every verb. The conjugation rules are presented for all available tenses, indicative and imperative moods and all genders. You can find even more information about each verb like present participle, passive participle, perfect participle, gerund, conj. pattern, English translation (translation is available for the first 150 verbs only - it will be updated soon) there. There is an automatic conjugation patterns generator, so you have to just assign a predefined pattern to your newly introduced verb. You can associate sounds with each verb. The program generates exercises to quickly check your knowledge. 39 predefined groups of verbs make studying exceptions in a systematic way very easy.
