STUDENTS

The library will be closed during both lunches today. Please make other plans. Thank you.

The Winter Wonderland Dance is tomorrow from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wristbands will be on sale today after school. The cost is $3.00. Wristbands will not be available at the door. Don't miss out!

All 7th graders: Don't forget that your See's Candy orders are due by 2:15 p.m. Monday at the student window. No late orders will be accepted. Candy orders may be picked up Dec. 18th and 19th ONLY.

Are you a risk taker? Do you dare to touch brains, intestines and slimey yukky stuff? If so, come to the backstop tomorrow during lunch and take the El Roble Gross Factor Challenge. It should be lots of fun and the winner will win a free dance ticket.

Students are invited to submit their original artwork and poetry for publication in this year's yearbook. Poetry is to be 20 lines or less. Artwork is to be on unlined paper in black ink. Please submit your work to Ms. McGourty-Riggs in room 405 by next Friday.

Next Mon. and Tues. Hip Hop will sell flower grams at lunch and again after school only on Tues. for $1.50. They will be distributed after school on Wed. You must have your friends name and SSR teacher in order to purchase a flower gram.

Don't forget to sign up for El Roble's first Spelling Bee! Our school is participating in the 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee and the El Roble winner could be selected to t compete in Washington D.C.! You must sign up in rm. 308 by next Friday, Dec. 19th in order to participate.

Tryouts continue today for the El Roble girls and boys basketball. Students are to be dressed in PE clothes and meet at the basketball courts by 2:30 p.m. Remember that everyone must be out of the locker rooms by 2:30 p.m. Players will not be allowed back in the locker rooms after 2:30 p.m.

If you are missing any towels, PE clothes, other clothing or personal items please check the lost and found bin by the student window before next Friday. The bin will be emptied then and all items will be donated to charity.

The El Roble Intermediate School Instrumental Music Department presents: A Winter Concert, Tuesday, Dec. 16th at 7 PM in the El Roble Gym. The concert is free and features performances from the Beginning Band, Percussion Ensemble, Orchestra, Color Guard, Concert Band, and Jazz Band.

TRACKS

The Brotherhood Group will meet today from 3 – 4:00 p.m. at the TAC.

Tomorrow the GURLS Group will be having a presentation by Project Sister on "Teen Dating Violence" from 3 – 4:00 p.m. so be sure to pick up a permission slip.

The TAC will be selling Holiday Grams tomorrow from 2:15 – 4:00 p.m. to raise money for the City of Claremont's Family Emergency Fund. The fund is designed to assist families that are in need of financial assistance for rent, bills, etc. PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY.
