2004 Season Highlights

  • Arroyo Distance Carnival, March 20

  • Sultana, Murrietta, Don Lugo, CHS Quad Meet, March 18

Final Score: Don Lugo 77.3, CHS 68, Murrietta 67.3, Sultana 35.3

    Athletes of the meet:

    1. Tim had a great series in the long jump. He fouled the first, then increased his pr 22'6, 22'7, 22'7.5. This is an amazing 5 FEET further than he jumped at the 4-way last year! He came back in the TJ with a pr 44'4.75. Both jumps were good enough for first place, but more than that, place him inside the top ten on both lists. Perhaps Tim's biggest contribution of the day was to fill in on 2nd leg on the 4x1 with five minutes notice. That helped the team to get things started for a positive day for all!

  • Royal Invitational, March 13

This was a refreshing start of the dual meet/invite season. Each of you competed well. T-minus 7 weeks until league prelims! Study hard! Train smart! Stay focused!

    Athletes of the meet:

    1. Austin showed pure leadership on and off the track. He posted a stunning pr in the 4, a s.b. in the 2, increased our lead for the medal in the 4x4 and in the 4x1.

    2. Graeme won the pv with a great outdoor mark of 15'. He then proved why he's a captain by snatching us into position in the 4x4. He could have opted out after the lengthy pv competition, but chose to be a team player instead.

    3. Cameron M. was impressive as he had a big pr in the SP of 44'6. He joined the lj/4x4 teams in style with a nice 19'+ jump and a 54.5 relay split.

  • CHS Novice Trials, March 6
