Competitions in Mathematics Club

Math Team

Competitions is what Math Club train, practice, toil, and overall work really hard to prepare for. Competitions in the Math Club is only limited to the Math Team; This team consists of a select few that is willing to volunteer out of school time to do the listed above. These students are extremely devoted to math, its aspects, and are truly the ones that are ready to give other competitors a hard time.

As Team members, we know how each others skills and weaknesses; therefore we work together to get a sense of each other, giving us the opportunity to learn and improve. It takes a great deal of effort and time to become a Math Club Math Team member, but through hard work and preference we will prevail in Competitions. Competitions

In competitions, we strive to do our best and represent CHS to our fullest potential. Completions vary from long range testing, to jeopardy, ASAP problem solving, and team versus team, and one on one cycled competitions. The competitions we go to is usually in a 100 mile radius around CHS, and usually last anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of days or even weeks. Problems that we value and had trouble on are listed below, plus; here are a list of some Competitions we actively participate in, also they will include our current statistics and rankings in:

Note: Problems are unavailable. Math Team has not yet chosen to extract any problems.

[Math Olympia]
- This is a test held on the CHS campus yearly. It is composed of a selected group of moderate-hard math problems, ones that you have to think for a while before you actually derive a solution to. It gives various levels of hardness - to advance forward you must get a passing score on each level; if you don't you are eliminated. Each level goes from county to city, state, then nationals. People who get nationals have to go through many, many levels. One person only.
[Statistics] Unavailable for this year, it should occur in a month.

[Math League]
- This is also held on the CHS campus; except it is monthly. Composed of a select 6 problems ranging from algebra to geometry, all problems require a lot of thinking but not a lot of advanced math to do. Most math teachers give extra credit for showing up, an even more for correct problems. One person per test only. Doing well this is competition repetitively gives you merits and awards from the sponsor.
[Statistics] Math Team Member Jacob, Miling, and Taku have repetitively gotten fives and sixes. Jonathan and Ryan averages around fours. Others average three to fives. (The last problem always gets you).

[Pomona-Wisconsin Mathematics Talent Search]
- This search is quite a basic one. Pomona college sponsors this search and it is held monthly. This gives you a duration of one month to complete a select five math problems. These problems can be solved in either moderate to hard mathematics. Logic is used greatly in solving these problems. This can be done in teams or as a single student.
[Statistics] Unavailable. We have submitted a couple of tests, results have not yet been looked upon.

[AIME]
- Info will be updated shortly.
[Statistics] Unavailable. Contests will start in a week or so.

Note: There are much more competitions that math club takes part in, as it will be updated here soon. New competitions that we find are submitted for review to see if we can participate.
