Girls golf features a CIF qualifier

In a season that has been more focused on personal improvement than on team competition, the girls golf team made significant strides from when they played their first league match against Los Altos back in September.

Junior Kristina Moraga qualified in CIF competition at the Diamond Bar Golf Course and recorded 18-hole scores of 89 and 92 in competition to place 7th overall and earn second team all-league honors.

“It the first time I had played at Diamond Bar and I didn't really know the course,” Kristina said.   “It had really narrow slopes and was a hard course.”

The golf team will be holding a golf tournament fundraiser this Saturday at the Claremont Golf Course.   Tee time is 1 p.m. and the $65 price of admission per player includes 9 holes of play, contests, dinner and awards. The proceeds go to the golf team, helping to provide funds for coaches, uniforms, tournaments and green fees.
