One of our honored person's colleagues has written, “This person is such a strength at our site. There is such a love for kids. This person is excellent in all areas and makes our site a better place.”
A staff member wrote, “…This employee has an exceptional work ethic. There is nothing this person would not do to help someone, as well as being a great role model for our students.”
Another peer writes that this person is a strong leader of both students and staff, maintains a work ethic of high quality and is a strong advocate for students.
Another colleague has commented that, “this person is incredible in all areas of her responsibilities. Above all, she is kind, considerate, and fair with each student. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, to accommodate for any reason, to benefit the students and the school.”
Quoting the supervisor, “What impresses me so greatly is this person is willing to work for a positive solution that is best for the kids. This person is constantly looking for new ideas and activities to improve the program. This person has a passion towards excellence in academics and physical conditioning and is a role model for all students. …a vital member of the school family and attending most after-school-hours events. She is a strong mother, who is diligent about not only her own children but their friends as well. She comes into contact with each student on campus and knows every student by name (often having a much deeper relationship than that). She is the person I go to when I need to find a kid at recess/lunch, when I need to know what is going on with a group of students socially, and often what is going on in the neighborhood. She is loved by her students, respected by our families, a dedicated colleague to her peers and a true example of the passion and spirit that makes up the Oakmont family.”
This employee enjoys spending time with family, two sons and a daughter, and loves walking and bicycling.
It is with a great deal of pleasure that I present the Claremont Unified School District Spotlight on Excellence Award to Lori Martinez, Physical Development Program Specialist at Oakmont.
