Steven Llanusa

Biographical Sketch

Steven Llanusa is a classroom teacher who had been the Technology Coordinator at a Science/Magnet school in San Bernardino County. A teacher for over 22 years, he also developed math and science curriculum for the NASA STEP program. He and his husband, Glenn Miya, have lived in Claremont since 1995. They are the parents of Alex, Aaron, and Eric who went to Condit, attended El Roble, and graduated form Claremont High.

Mr. Llanusa received a bachelor's degree from UCLA and holds an M.A. in education. He has served as secretary of the Condit PFA, board member of the El Roble PFA, first vice-president of the CHS PFA, and member of the district's Asset Advisory Committee. Other district activities include developing materials for the Claremont Educational Foundation and working in various Booster Groups at El Roble and CHS.

In 2012, Mr. Llanusa was selected as a Union Bank Local Community Hero and honored along with his family. Mr. Llanusa's community activities include membership in the Claremont Coordinating Council, Our Lady of the Assumption, the Claremont Chamber of Commerce and the Claremont League of Women Voters.
