Condit Elementary School

Condit School is dedicated to developing the full potential of each student according to an action plan refined through continuous reflection, evaluation, and modification.

The Condit community has high expectations for students and staff to excel in all areas of learning and teaching. Condit believes that the curricular and the social education of a child requires the teamwork of the teacher, family, students, and staff of the school. Staff and parents expect excellence in all aspects of each child's educational program.

Through the process of shared decision making by teachers, support staff, and administration, the staff of Condit examines, evaluates, and makes decisions regarding the curricular needs of the school. All Condit students have equal opportunities in their learning. Instructional strategies may include a tactile/kinesthetic, visual, or auditory approach, higher order thinking, cooperative learning, cross-age tutoring, and a variety of technological experiences.

Our goals for the 2006-2007 school year are centered in the following areas:

Mathematics Students will use mathematical reasoning skills to draw conclusions and give evidence supporting their conclusions using sound mathematical principles.

Language Arts Students will demonstrate increased reading comprehension skills through the application of higher order thinking strategies.

Schoolwide Student needs form the basis of core instruction and any interventions to help students realize success in meeting State standards.
