EXPLOSION

Explosions usually occur without warning. The following
actions should be instituted at once: |

A. |
At sound of explosion give command: DROP. |

B. |
If the explosion occurs within the building or threatens
the building, implement action: LEAVE BUILDING. |

C. |
Sound the school first alarm. |

D. |
Notify the Claremont Fire and Police Department - 911 |

E. |
Notify utility companies of any damage or suspected
damage. |

F. |
Move to an area of safety and maintain control of
students. |

G. |
Render first aid as necessary. |

H. |
If it is possible to fight small fires without
endangering life, do so. |

I. |
Take roll _ account for all pupils. |

J. |
Notify the District Superintendent. |

K. |
The principal will direct further action as required. |

L. |
Students and staff must not return to the school until
Fire/Police Department officials declare the area safe. |

Sound the school fire alarm to implement action: LEAVE

B. |
Follow instructions given for actual explosions. |

Assess need for psychological first aid/activate Crisis
Team if needed. |
