We have developed this newsletter to inform parents and community members about the programs occuring in our schools. [Download] Claremont Unified District is located in Southern California approximately 30 miles east of Los Angeles. The community is known for the Claremont Colleges and has a strong working relationship with these institutions. Currently, the District has over 6,300 students in its K-12 program and runs an extensive Adult School program. There are seven unique elementary schools, a school for the orthopedically handicapped, an intermediate school, a comprehensive high school, and a continuation school. Claremont USD K-12 School DirectorySchool Accountability Report Cards (SARC)Reported for 2006 - 2007 • Published During 2007 - 2008California public schools annually provide information about themselves to the community allowing the public to evaluate and compare schools for student achievement, environment, resources and demographics. A Parent's Guide to the SARC, a description of the requirements and information contained in the School Accountability Report Card, is available on the California Department of Education website. Single Plan For Student Achievement (K-12)Annually, each school develops a Single Plan for Student Achievement to "improve the academic performance of all pupils to the level of the performance goals, as established by the Academic Performance Index." Working closely with teachers and parents on the School Site Council, each school develops a plan after careful analysis of student performance data, setting priorities for program improvements, rigorous use of effective solution strategies, and ongoing monitoring of results. CA Department of Education Content Standards (K-12)Standards adopted by the California State Board of Education for English-language arts, mathematics, history-social science, science, and visual and performing arts. California's content standards describe what all students should know and be able to do by the end of each grade level or high school course. The California Standards Test (CAT6) assess how well students in California public schools are acquiring the skills and knowledge specified in these standards. |
