It is difficult to picture life growing up in the ice and snow of Washington state. It is worse thinking that you used to live in the comforts of sunny Southern California where sixty degrees seems cold. Life is difficult to imagine with the loss of a parent; it is even worse when you lose the parent while you are in high school. Despite hardships faced in life, this teacher has conquered a phenomenal life due to her own strong spirit, devoted family, best friends, and a little bit of Disney magic.
She attended Washington State University majoring in Math and majoring in chemistry and began her teaching career there. This popular innovative teacher started her career here in Claremont after working at the happiest place on earth, Disneyland, for 10 years as a cast member and ride operator.
She has certainly become the element of change for students from those that struggle to those that excel. Her creative, magical, teaching strategies have made math fun for many. Her passion for connecting with kids and adding humor to what could be an unbearable challenge fun! She holds a counseling credential and uses it indirectly to support her students emotionally as well as academically.
This teacher is also a member of the schools hospitality committee and weaves her creative talents in the celebration of others and their achievements.
She is an integral part of the CHS family in a number of ways. Her quiet strength and outgoing spirit inspires and encourages others daily. We are fortunate to have her as a part of our school.
During her tenure at CHS she has served as Mentor Teacher, math coordinator for summer program, and on the Planning Committee.
Her interests include walking, cross-stitch, and she is an avid Kings hockey fan.
