School Accountability Report Card (SARC)- provides information on each school's accomplishments by specific categories. The California Standards Tests in English-language arts, mathematics, science, and history-social science are administered only to students in California public schools. Except for a writing component that is administered as part of the grade 4 and 7 English-language arts tests, all questions are multiple choice. These tests were developed specifically to assess students' performance on California's Academic Content Standards. More
The Academic Performance Index (API) - is a measurement of school achievement for accountability purposes as a result of the 1999 Public Schools Accountability Act (PSAA). More details about the PSAA and updates on related school accountability systems can be found on the PSAA web site http://api.cde.ca.gov/. API scores are calculated for schools only, and are not calculated at the state, county, or district levels.
