Contacting the Board of Education
The Board of Education is composed of five elected members and one appointed student non-voting member. The Board is the policy-making body and the official representative of the people for kindergarten through twelfth grade public education in Claremont. Elected Board members serve four year terms and the student member serves a one-year term. They must be qualified electors residing within the boundaries of the school district. Elections are held biennially. Three Board members are elected one year. Two years later, two other Board members are elected. The student member is appointed by the Board each year.
Board Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. The regular public session begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Richard S. Kirkendall Education Center Board Room.
